5th Street Games Launches 4th Game: My Happy Farm
Salt Lake City, United States (IBwire.com - June 12, 2012)
The latest family game from Salt Lake City board game publisher 5th Street Games is My Happy Farm, the game of stretchy livestock.
5th Street Games has been steadily growing a library of titles aimed at encouraging people to play games together with a focus on easy-to-learn rules and quick play time. Founded in July 2011, the company has already published three games with My Happy Farm being its fourth release.
“I fell in love with the game at a local convention after just one play,” said 5th Street Games founder Phil Kilcrease. “The charming artwork and gameplay evoke a sense of caring for your animals. You want all of your animals smiling back at you by the end of the game.”
In My Happy Farm, each player feeds her four animals by growing crops that each animal enjoys eating. When fed, animals don’t get bigger; they get... longer. Everyone knows a long cow is a happy cow, right? By the end of the game, the player with the happiest (and longest) animals is declared to have the happiest farm and is the winner.
As with 5th Street’s other games, the production of My Happy Farm is being funded through Kickstarter.com, a crowd-funding website. Supporters who back the game through Kickstarter can order a copy for themselves for $17 or multiple copies for just $15 each. “Our Kickstarter backers will also get special exclusive rewards, like alternate animals,” added Kilcrease. The company’s previous title, Farmageddon, raised over $25,000 through Kickstarter.
My Happy Farm is also 5th Street Games’ first import; the company is partnering with Ukrainian publisher IGAMES to bring My Happy Farm to gamers in the U.S.
The 5th Street Games library includes Castle Dash, a speedy siege game; The Crow and the Pitcher, a trick-taking game based on Aesop’s fable of the same name; and Farmageddon, the frenetic farming game.
