The Blood Sugar-Cardiac-Cancer Connection
Las Vegas, United States (IBwire.com - January 08, 2013)
GLS Sciences, the nutritional research organization specializing in issues with blood sugar and the human metabolism, focuses a new research initiative on the blood sugar-cardiac-cancer connection. High blood sugar, along with six other specific markers, was identified as a pre-cursor for cardiac health problems. GLS references a study by the American Heart Association released in November 2011 that showed out of 13,000 participating; those with healthier cardiac function were far less likely to develop cancer. This study didn’t indicate merely a reduced chance; this study indicated those with healthy hearts were as much as 38% less likely to develop cancer, which is significant.
The study revealed seven specific metrics that could be referenced to determine if one is living a heart-healthy lifestyle. They are:
Non-smoker
Normal BMI (body mass index)
Physical activity
Healthy diet and nutrition
Safe cholesterol
Normal blood pressure
Fasting glucose in the normal range
This study was statistically significant, as these specific markers were measured in 13,000 respondents during a thirteen-year period. Along with the study, researchers found that those possessing just one of the seven healthy markers, such as healthy blood sugar, had a 20% lower cancer risk. If they had three healthy indicators, their chance of cancer was reduced by 22%, and five to seven indicators showed a 38% lower risk of developing cancer.
Numerous studies have come to light in recent years including one published in May 2010 by The Oncologist online, a study so large it comprised half the diabetics in Sweden. Their findings indicated the risk of some of the worst Cancers escalated in direct correlation with blood sugar levels, even among those without diabetes. Another study conducted by the University of Guelph discovered a healthy person's blood sugar would not only spike after consuming a high-fat meal, but worse yet that spike doubles when the meal includes caffeine.
Furthermore, those who suffer with blood sugar issues are very likely deficient in a few important vitamins, minerals and phyto-nutrients that are difficult to obtain from foods common to the Standard American Diet. Supplementing one’s diet with these constituents helps the metabolism better deal with blood sugar challenges. The good news is that there are such natural vitamin, mineral and phyto-nutrient supplements available to ensure that one’s blood sugar levels stay in the normal range.
Leaving one’s blood sugar unmanaged in the high range of normal leads to other devastating health risks. Those interested in learning more about their blood sugar and its effects on the body’s metabolic system can do so with a subscription to Blood Sugar Health Magazine, which they get at no charge with their download of the groundbreaking new book from the brain trust at GLS Sciences, The Blood Sugar Miracle.
