ConceiveEasy Offers New TTC Kit to Help Women Predict Ovulation
San Jose, United States (IBwire.com - January 06, 2013)
Ninety percent of women being treated for infertility did not know the most optimal time in their cycles to become pregnant. This is according to a new study published in the International Journal of Advanced Nursing Studies by Monash University that surveyed more than 200 women seeking help with conception. Only 13 percent knew the specific days in their cycle when they were most fertile.
The ConceiveEasy TTC Kit now includes helpful tools to help women predict their ovulation dates with better accuracy. Each kit comes with the usual two bottles of daily fertility blend supplements, along with 20 free ovulation and/or pregnancy tests. Newly added this month is a basal body temperature thermometer and an ovulation chart, which will help women predict fertility by showing them how to chart subtle fluctuations in body temperature that indicate ovulation.
Poor awareness of one’s fertility window greatly impacts a couple’s chances of becoming pregnant. Better education regarding the timing of intercourse could reduce the time it takes to achieve a pregnancy and help more couples conceive without the assistance of a fertility specialist.
“The best time to conceive is three days before ovulation and during ovulation, which is about 14 days before the start of the woman’s menstruation,” explains Dr. Renee Hanton M.D., ConceiveEasy’s Senior Physician with expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of infertility.
Dr. Hanton cautions that not every woman has a luteal phase of precisely 14 days, so a more accurate way of predicting fertility is to track one’s cycle using an ovulation calculator. To do this, a woman should know the start date of her last period and the number of days until the next period begins. Plugging these two numbers into an online calculator will then reveal a woman’s most fertile days of the month.
Another method of determining ovulation is to track temperature shifts with a basal body thermometer and chart. A woman’s body temperature remains pretty stable all month long, but rises by 0.4 to 1 point during ovulation. Once a woman’s fertility window has passed, her temperature goes back down to normal.
To improve odds of conceiving naturally, many women take fertility supplements, try the missionary position, and avoid lifestyle habits like smoking, drinking, caffeine, and calorie restriction. Men can improve odds of fertility on their end by wearing loose-fitting underwear, staying out of hot tubs, putting laptops onto a desk, and abstaining from intercourse for 3-5 days before ovulation to ensure sufficient build-up of sperm.
