Churchview Supportive Living, an affordable assisted living community located on Chicago’s southwest side, is hosting a community health education program on Music Therapy at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 17.

The community, which is owned by the Greater Southwest Development Corporation and managed by BMA Management, Ltd., serves low income older adults who need some help to maintain their independence.

“Come and join us for an informative and relaxing afternoon as we focus on the benefits of music therapy,” says Thalia Barrow, Director of Marketing for Churchview Supportive Living.

The program will be conducted by Peace Hospice. Light refreshments will be served. There is no cost to attend.

The Churchview Supportive Living community is located at 2626 W. 63rd. St. in Chicago, Illinois.

“The community provides a wonderful alternative to a nursing home or to struggling alone at home,” says Barrow. “Residents live in private apartments and receive the personal assistance and help with medications that they need.”

Each of the apartments features a kitchenette, spacious bathroom with shower and grab bars, and an emergency alert system.

Certified nursing assistants are on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Meals, laundry and housekeeping are among the included services.

“We are fully certified to operate through the Illinois Supportive Living program, which means we can serve older adults on Medicaid,” says Barrow.

“Our focus is on providing residents with the love, compassion and dignity that they deserve in addition to care and assistance,” says Barrow. “Our emphasis is on helping residents to achieve and maintain as much independence as possible for as long as possible.”
